Man killed, 3 other adults wounded in shooting in a parking lot in suburban Denver, police say

AURORA, Colo. (AP) — A man was killed and three other people were wounded in a shooting in suburban Denver on Thursday, police said.

A man died at the scene and two men and a woman were taken to the hospital, Aurora police interim police chief Heather Morris said in a news conference.

The shooting happened in a parking lot near busy Colfax Avenue, the main street that cuts east to west through the Denver metro area, in an area with both businesses and residences, Morris said. Investigators believe whoever opened fire had a connection with the victims and that it was not a random act of violence, Morris said.

Police have not determined yet what their relationship was, and no arrests have been made, she said.
