$1,100 Hermes Apple Watch makes high-tech chic

If a regular old Apple Watch just isn't chic enough for you, a stylish -- and pricey -- new option is finally hitting the market. On Friday, Jan. 22, the Apple Watch Hermès goes on sale.

Starting at a hefty $1,100, Apple's line of luxury smartwatches with handmade leather straps from the renowned French design studio will be available for purchase online at Hermes.com and Apple.com. These high-end watches will also be ready for in-store purchases at select Apple Stores in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, and Toronto.

There are three styles available: the "Single Tour" ($1,100), featuring an equestrian style buckle on a brown, black or red leather band; the "Double Tour" ($1,250), which wraps twice around the wrist; and the wider "Cuff" ($1,500). Each features a customizable Hermès version of the watch face.

Beyond the fancy strap, you really aren't buying anything beyond the regular Apple Watch. By comparison, the Apple Watch Sport model starts at $349 on Apple's website. The regular stainless steel Apple Watch starts at $549.

While the Hermès model is a luxury, it's not even close to the most expensive option Apple offers. The 18-Karat gold Apple Watch Edition eclipses it with a price tag starting at $10,000.
