Ann Wilson shares cancer diagnosis, says Heart concert tour is postponed: 'This is merely a pause'

Ann Wilson is taking a break from the stage following a recent cancer scare.

The Heart singer revealed the health ordeal, which comes amid a nationwide tour for the band, in a letter posted to her social media accounts on Tuesday.

"Dear friends, I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous," Wilson wrote. "The operation was successful (and) I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy (and) I've decided to do it."

A representative for Wilson was not available for comment at the time of publication.

Heart was performing on its Royal Flush concert tour, which kicked off in April. The band was also set to open for rock bands Def Leppard and Journey on their joint stadium tour, which is scheduled to begin Saturday.

"My doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover," Wilson wrote. "To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025."

A post on the band's official Instagram page states that fans' tickets will be "honored for the rescheduled dates."

"This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing," Wilson concluded. "Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter."

The band alluded to Wilson's health issues in May when the group was forced to cancel its performances in Europe because Wilson had a "time-sensitive but routine medical procedure," which required a recovery period of at least six weeks.
